I didn’t realize till last night how much I miss teaching. I spent about 5 or 6 hours last night working with one of my friends, Laura Lueken, with her essay for a class she is taking at JCC. She was writing about how she loves to go to the prayer room on Saturdays. It was hard for me to emotionally detatch myself from the content of the paper, but I managed to for the most part. I had to put myself in the position of someone who had never experienced the prayer room and ask her a ton of questions to help her clarify her points and correct the fragmented sentences throughout the essay. 5 or 6 hours - the finished product of a 1 paragraph essay on the prayer room was acheived.
It was a long process, it was a hard process, it was a FUN process.
I think I’m going to go get a web cam so we can work on stuff like this again like she asked me. It’ll be about 30 dollars and I think I can swing that right now.
Jesus, can I go back to teaching pretty please?
